History of West Kenya College of Professional Studies
West Kenya College of Professional Studies was established in 2008 with the vision of providing quality, accessible and practical-oriented knowledge and skills to students in Kenya and beyond.
Since its inception, the college has focused on offering a variety of market-driven programs in business, education, information technology, accountancy and community development. From small backgrounds the college has steadily grown in enrollment, facilities, and academic departments.
Over the years, the college has expanded its partnerships with government agencies, local communities, and professional bodies to ensure its curriculum meets current job market needs.
The college is registered with the Ministry of Education and works closely with examining bodies such as KNEC, KASNEB, and TVET. It has also embraced flexible e-learning platforms to widen access to education, especially for working students and those who cannot physically attend the traditional classroom.
Additionally, West Kenya College is known for its affordable fee structure, and individualized instructional teaching making quality education accessible to a broader population.
Today, West Kenya College of Professional Studies continues to uphold its philosophy of producing competent, ethical, and skilled graduates ready to contribute meaningfully to society.

Management Advisory Board
The Management Advisory Board is composed of seven academic and professional experts who provide strategic guidance to the Board of Directors, ensure compliance with educational regulations, monitor institutional effectiveness, and promote continuous improvement through evidence-based innovations and research.
Directors
Known for their diverse expertise, visionary thinking, and commitment to excellence, the Directors bring unique perspectives that enrich decision-making and promote transformative leadership in the institution. Their uniqueness lies in their multidisciplinary backgrounds, deep understanding of educational reforms, strong ethical grounding, proactive approach to emerging challenges, and ability to balance strategic oversight with empathy for learners and staff.
Principal
The principal serves as the secretary to the Board of Management and plays a central role in ensuring effective curriculum interpretation, coordination and implementation in line with the approved curriculum designs.
Teaching and support staff
Teaching and support staff are competitively recruited. They are responsible for effective curriculum delivery, learner support, and the smooth functioning of school operations, while upholding high professional standards and embracing ongoing improvement.
